Our Story

Capture Canberra Studios began as a vision shared by two Canberra locals, Elena Petrova and Ben Chifley, both passionate about visual storytelling. Elena, with her extensive background in professional photography, and Ben, a skilled videographer with a keen eye for detail, recognized a gap in the market for a studio that offered both high-quality services and a personalized, client-focused approach. Canberra, with its unique blend of urban landscapes and natural beauty, presented the perfect backdrop for their venture.

In 2018, fueled by their shared passion and a strong entrepreneurial spirit, they pooled their resources and established Capture Canberra Studios in a small, unassuming space in Braddon. Their initial focus was on providing portrait photography and event videography services to the local community. Word of their exceptional work quickly spread, and soon they were inundated with requests from individuals, families, and businesses alike.

As demand grew, Elena and Ben expanded their studio, investing in state-of-the-art equipment and recruiting a team of talented photographers, videographers, and editors. They moved to a larger, more centrally located facility on Constitution Avenue, allowing them to accommodate a wider range of projects and clients. Today, Capture Canberra Studios boasts three fully equipped studios, each designed to cater to different photographic and videographic needs. Studio A, "The Classic," is perfect for traditional portraits and fashion shoots; Studio B, "The Modern," is tailored for commercial projects and music videos; and Studio C, "The Natural Light," offers a bright and airy space ideal for lifestyle shoots and family portraits.

Over the years, Capture Canberra Studios has had the privilege of capturing countless cherished moments for the Canberra community. From weddings and milestone celebrations to corporate events and product launches, they have consistently delivered exceptional results that exceed expectations. Our Team

Elena Petrova

Co-Founder & Head Photographer

Elena brings over 15 years of professional photography experience to Capture Canberra Studios. Her expertise spans portraiture, fashion, and commercial photography. Elena's passion for capturing the essence of her subjects shines through in every image she creates. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the Australian National University.

Ben Chifley

Co-Founder & Head Videographer

Ben is a highly skilled videographer with a passion for storytelling through moving images. His expertise includes event videography, corporate video production, and music video direction. Ben's creative vision and technical expertise ensure that every video produced by Capture Canberra Studios is of the highest quality. He has a Diploma of Screen and Media from CIT.

Olivia Wong

Senior Photographer

Olivia is a talented and versatile photographer with a keen eye for detail. She specializes in wedding photography, family portraits, and lifestyle shoots. Olivia's warm and approachable personality helps her create a relaxed and comfortable environment for her clients, resulting in natural and authentic images. She has a Certificate IV in Photography from TAFE NSW.

James Smith

Videographer & Editor

James is a skilled videographer and editor with a passion for creating compelling visual narratives. He is proficient in all aspects of video production, from filming and editing to motion graphics and sound design. James's attention to detail and creative flair ensure that every video he produces is engaging and impactful. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Film Studies at the University of Canberra.
